I'm Wallace Wilson. From Kansas City. This site is a collection of various feeds listed below, as well as a few native posts. Feel free to follow me at any of them: twitter . google reader . flickr . other blog

You can also catch me over here: facebook . friendfeed . linkedin

I have worked in politics, been an agent for motivational speakers and authors, managed retail and warehousing and ran my own interactive marketing shop for 3 years. I had a brief cup of coffee with a larger agency and for the last 7 years have been the Systems Manager for a children's clothing manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer, where I head up IT for the corporate office and 70+ retail locations nationwide. I'm moving back towards the marketing side as the web, social media and eCommerce strategist. The marketing side is a lot more fun. I'm not even sure how I ended up in IT.

I'm also heavily involved with cloud computing software. From running multiple domains/organizations on Google Apps to helping to develop and implement SaaS Point of Sale software called RICS Enterprise

Recently became a Certified Inbound Marketing Professional. Not sure that gets me anything, but there it is.

I wish people, businesses, organizations, schools, neighborhoods...everybody...would learn how to use the web better. Call me if you need help, because your websites bother me and they bother your customers too.

I would also like to open a deli in Brookside, because I like sandwiches...a lot. Call me if you want to do that too.

Husband to Emily Wilson and father of Grace and Wally

Poop Butterflies

Grace was telling me about her favorite thing in the movie “Horton Hears a Who” on the way to school. I have not seen the part she was talking about, but it has something to do with someone saying something like “In my world there are horses. They eat rainbows and poop butterflies”.

Grace then asked me if I had ever seen a “poop butterfly”. I tried to explain that there was no such insect as a “poop butterfly” and instead that the person was saying when the horses pooped, butterflies came out. Not that the horse was eating a special kind of butterfly, called the “poop butterfly”.

I could see her think this through for a while in the rear view mirror. She came back with “How do you know”?

Realizing that the movie was about an elephant that discovered a whole new world/universe living inside a spec on a flower I realized reality had no place in this conversation and admitted that I had never seen the elusive “poop butterfly”.
